The inert gas generator system is suitable when there is no readily available supply of flue gas. The system includes a combination of a burner section and a scrubber section for seawater cooling. The combustion of marine diesel or heavy oil produces inert gases with an oxygen content of 2-4%. The gas then enters a scrubber cooled and cleaned by spraying seawater and is distributed to the deck area.
