Mega Guard Dynamic Positioning System (DP) automatically controls the course and position of ships
The Mega Guard Dynamic Positioning System (DP) automatically controls the course and position of the ship by starting the thruster based on data received from the position reference system, gyrocompass, wind sensor, and motion reference device. The automatic tracking mode allows the ship to move along predefined tracks at a low speed defined by the operator.
The MegaGuard Joystick Control System (JC) is the basic version of the MegaGuard DP system, allowing operators to automatically control the course and manually position the ship based on data received from gyrocompasses and wind sensors.
Mega-Guard DP and JC systems are based on on-site validated products from the Mega-Guart product line, as well as experience gained in the design and delivery of joystick control systems provided on many different types of ships since 1980 (see reference list).
Mega Guard DP and JC systems fully comply with applicable classification and IMO rules (DP1, DP2, and DP3) and are suitable for supply vessels, tugs, dredgers, cable and pipeline laying vessels, FPSOs, heavy lift vessels, and mega yachts.
